"Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life..." Philippians 2

My Shadow
I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me,
And what can be the use of him is more than I can see.
He is very, very like me from the heels up to the head;
And I see him jump before me, when I jump into my bed.
The funniest thing about him is the way he likes to grow—And what can be the use of him is more than I can see.
He is very, very like me from the heels up to the head;
And I see him jump before me, when I jump into my bed.
Not at all like proper children, which is always very slow;
For he sometimes shoots up taller like an india-rubber ball,
And he sometimes goes so little that there's none of him at all.
He hasn't got a notion of how children ought to play,
And can only make a fool of me in every sort of way.
He stays so close behind me, he's a coward you can see;
I'd think shame to stick to nursie as that shadow sticks to me!
One morning, very early, before the sun was up,
I rose and found the shining dew on every buttercup;
But my lazy little shadow, like an arrant sleepy-head,
Had stayed at home behind me and was fast asleep in bed.

Port-a-Potty
My blood pressure was lowered significantly on our weekend beef-run road trip to GG & KK's once we discovered that we could pull over to the side of the road, unbuckle Amity from her seat, and let her sit on this little potty in the middle of the van ALL without anyone getting out on the very busy highway. This SO beats squatting in the grass between the two passenger side doors! Amity had several successful sits on this potty. As you can see, even Paco was impressed! Now I'm off to order more of those bags...they are worth every penny!

Growing Up!
Amity used to not be a big fan of haircuts! (17 months old)
Now she sits perfectly still and loves them! She got a super-cute cut on Friday afternoon. On Saturday morning, I took this picture before she went outside to run in the sprinklers. She looked so grown up (except for the shoes)!
There's no diaper under this swimsuit!
There's no diaper under this swimsuit!
Just about the cutest thing ever...
Amity loved sitting next to her cousin Eli and Vivien (our little socialite) seemed to love being around so many people! She is so good at sitting up now and just sat right next to her sister and looked so big. Vivien kept reaching over to put her hand on Amity's back and Amity kept moving it away. It kind of reminded me of a certain brother and myself on long car rides! :)
