2018 Christmas

We spent last Christmas with the Grovers and the Connells, as you can see, we had ALOT of fun!

(Amity had just finished doing a big cross stitch, and is probably going to have a little break before doing another one!)

Probably Edie's most memorable part of this Christmas, was scaring uncle Dylan.

We all enjoy the pool, especially trying to swim up the current!

Ok, take that back, Edie had second thoughts...

But who can not like a pool, especially when cousins join you?

Vivien, too, had a good time.

The sunset was BEAUTIFUL that evening!

The ice is very slippery, perfect for ice skating!

Lolly, as a last Christmas gift gave all the cousins a puzzle.

We each in turn had our problems...

But everybody solved their puzzles, and were rewarded with ten bucks each.

Halloween 2016

Halloween was on Monday. The Saturday night before, the big girls and I explored Pinterest trying to decide what wanted to be. They changed their minds several times but we finally settled on Susan and Lucy Pevensie.  Which meant, of course, that Edie had to either be Mr. Tumnus or Aslan. A lion costume seemed more do-able with yarn and felt. I made a quick trip to Goodwill on Sunday and found a dress for Amity and a tablecloth to cut in half for capes. Vivi wore her Elsa dress backwards and they both wore our belts as straps.  We spray painted Vivi's old Merida bow for Amity to carry. I'm not sure how obvious our theme was to people we met but they were proud. 

 Love our quietly brave, graceful Susan! She is currently so in love with the Narnia books.

 Unlike her character, Edie was a bit confused about the whole situation but she was great about keeping on her mane the whole night.

 Sweet Lucy. Her big sister has convinced her to read The Voyage of the Dawntreader. I don't think she loves it quite as much as the Little House books but she and Lucy do have a lot in common.

 We went to the Kiwanis-sponsored free miniature golf at Sooner Golf and then headed to the Howzes' for trick or treating in their neighborhood.

Edie is 4 months old!

Sweet Edna Grace, you are 4 months old (3 days ago really but I was waiting for your stats from your well visit).  You are such a lovely little lump of sugar and we just adore you!

You love bath time and pool time and sticking out your tongue. 

You do have some opinions though and know how to let us know about them. In the past week, your body figured out how to roll but your mind is still determining if you can fall asleep in this position. 

At your well visit, you were considered "healthy"! :) 

You are sort of sleeping through the night.  You have your last bottle around 6pm and go to bed around 7. You don't need to eat until 6 or 6:30am but you typically require some paci assistance throughout the night. For this reason, you're still hanging out in Mom and Dad's room. 

You remain your sisters' favorite source of entertainment and they regularly argue over who gets to hold you, feed you, change your diaper, etc.  

What else do we want to remember?

You drink four 8 ounce bottles a day. 

You ALWAYS giggle when we take your arms out of your sleeves and pull your shirt off your head.  So ticklish!

You are all smiles for your family everyone else comments on your serious face.  Our friends' new game is to see which one can make you smile but more often than not, you stick out your bottom lip and cry a very pitiful cry! 

We are so thankful for you and can't wait to get to know more of your big personality!

Edie is 3 months old!

We can't believe this little girl is already 3 months old and yet, at the same time, we can't remember life without her!

At 3 months, these are some things we want to remember about you:

You are eating about 6 ounces every four-ish hours during the day and then sleep from about 10pm-6am. 

You love to nap! While we would love to snuggle you to sleep, you often just want to go to your bed and you let us know.  As soon as we lay you in bed on your tummy with your paci, you look so happy and relaxed.  

You have started enjoying some of the big girl toys in between naps. You like to be able to stand up on your legs and bounce.  Your sisters love to watch you play!

You're not yet holding on to toys but you do like to grab our fingers and sometimes  your sisters' hair. 

In your short 3 months of life, you have already travelled to Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado and have proved yourself as a fabulous road-tripper making it all the way from Colorado to home in one day with your trusty sister by your side. 

We can't wait to see what the next month holds and just hope we can squeeze out all the snuggles and smiles possible!

Edie is 1 month old!

That went by so fast, sweet girl! In some ways, it feels like you've always been part of our family and in others, it seems like we were just waiting to meet you yesterday!

You are growing every day and I just packed away the newborn clothes this past week to return to the Calls who loaned them to us.  Thankfully, it just happened to be same day that Emily brought a bag full of 0-3 month footies (our favorite clothing of choice most of the time). 

You are eating between 2-4 ounces around 6am, 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, and 9pm and getting up 1-2 times in the night for some more.  Big sister Vivi has learned to give you a bottle this week and she loves it.  Mommy still feeds you most of the time but Viv begs to do it whenever possible!

You discovered that you like to sleep on your tummy this week. Just like your sisters! However, only you have the special privilege of sleeping in Mom and Dad's bed.  Just FYI, this isn't a permanent arrangement but it does seem to be the best way for us all to get some sleep for now!

You got your first Wubbanub from the Howze family this week and you seem to be a fan of your new little buddy. 

You are most awake in the late evening hours, especially when you are snuggling with Daddy.  Your neck is getting really strong and you even like to push and kick with your legs. 

You are paying more attention to your surroundings and have just noticed the animals hanging on your swing and the mobile above your pack and play. 

You remain our favorite source of entertainment and are the delight of your sisters. We love you so much and can't wait to see more of your personality as you grow this next month!

Halloween 2015

Our first Halloween in Oklahoma was rated "the best Halloween ever" according to Vivien.  I don't think that speaks as much to a Texas Halloween as it does to being old enough to totally "get" the candy collecting thing, especially since their experience last year was cut short since we were leaving to drive up here to look at houses.

We are not big costume planners in this house.  Vivien already owned a cute mermaid outfit so she declared she would be Ariel from The Little Mermaid.  Amity considered a few options but we suggested Flounder and she went for it.  On Halloween morning, I bought red yard for Viv's wig and a bright yellow shirt and blue tutu for Amity.  

 I think they resemble somewhat, no?

GG and KK came over to Bville for Vivi's soccer game and spent the night.  Before heading out for our Halloween adventures, the girls went across the street to deliver some pumpkin muffins to our favorite neighbors, the Wessons.

 Then we headed to the Sooner Miniature Golf Course sponsored by the Kiwanis Club.  It was FREE and the girls got to get a piece of candy at every hole.

 Amity got pretty competitive.

 Vivi's mini golf game is more like lacrosse.  We tried to make her follow the rules but it was useless.

 After mini golf, we headed to the Howzes' neighborhood to trick or treat with friends.  Unfortunately, it was dark and I didn't attempt to take any pictures.  Dennis stayed back with the dads to hand out candy and the girls and I stayed with our gang as they collected quite the stash.  They are already looking forward to Halloween 2016!

Zoo Girls Getaway

Today was a day I want to remember! These past few weeks have been so busy with work and school planning but we had put a zoo trip on the calendar.  And even though storms were in the forecast, I decided to go ahead and take a chance even if our friends decided not to come with us.  It was such a fun time that reminded me of the many adventures I had with these girls the past 7 years in Dallas when they were toddlers and preschoolers but it was also fun to enjoy the zoo at a new bigger kid level, actually stopping to read signs and talking with the zookeepers. There are things we miss about the Dallas zoo but the Tulsa zoo is great too.  We were worn out after spending about five hours there.  Such a fun day marveling about God's creatures with these fun little ladies!
