Just Say..."No Thank You!"

The picture below really has nothing to do with this post except for that I think it is really cute how exciting juice boxes can be to a little person that is not used to drinking undiluted juice.
Amity is a very independent little girl. Her favorite phrase is "All by myself". When we are trying to help her with something, she has had the tendency to throw a fit. We have been working with her over the past few months on saying "No thank you," when she would prefer to not have our help.

Amity can also be a little wary of tickling or the kind of games that her Daddy loves to play when he pops out from behind a corner to scare or surprise her. Again, instead of throwing a fit, we have told her to say "No thank you!" when she wants something to stop.

She is finally understanding the phrase and "No thank you!" has become her second favorite phrase! On Saturday, we were cleaning out the Pilot getting it ready to sell (above picture was taken while we were working). At one point, Amity and I were cleaning in the back of the Pilot and Dennis decided to back it out of the garage so we would have more light. I held Amity in my lap with the back door open as he backed up about ten feet down the driveway. The entire time, Amity was yelling "No thank you! No thank you!"

Sunday afternoon, she woke up from her nap a little cranky. I was feeding Vivien in our bed and Dennis put her next to me and then started tickling her. Amity quickly said, "No thank you, Daddy!" Dennis told her she was the most polite grumpy person he had ever met!
