Where art thou, O Christmas tree?

We ventured out to Walls Family Farm for the sixth year in a row to cut down our Christmas tree.  This was Amity's third time to Walls and Vivien's first.  We took the truck and I forgot the sling and the stroller so I got a workout carrying Vivien and Amity got a workout just keeping up with us.  Her expectations for a tree started out very low...
but quickly got bigger as she realized how many trees there were.
Amity and Eiley were still more interested in the sticks than the trees.
Vivien enjoyed the snuggles and staying warm in her hat.
When we finally located our tree, we took a picture for the first time with our new tree sign from the Connells.
And then we took Dennis's standard manly picture next to his tree.  It looks like we sized the tree better this year for our 8-foot ceilings.
Amity liked to help and Dennis is always so good about finding ways to include her.
We tend to choose trees that are as far from the tractors' paths as possible so there was a lot of walking involved to haul our tree back.  I may have said something to the effect of "girls that walk fast get cookies" to motivate a certain little person.
And, I have learned to never say something that we can't back up with actions!
For the first time in our six years, we took a few minutes to enjoy the playground at the farm.  I was surprised to hear Amity say, "Mommy, here I come!" and see her slide down this big slide on her own.  What happened to my cautious little girl?  She was all over this big-kid playground and I think she enjoyed it more than picking out the Christmas tree.
Back in the truck, we had barely made it out of Terrell before all was quiet in the backseat.
 Snuggle, snuggle sweet sugars!
