Amity is a girl who likes to be out and about, that is, as long as she is home by nap time! The threat of the swine flu has cramped our style a little bit this week. Not wanting to be paranoid but not wanting to put ourselves at additional risk, we stayed home from Storytime at Northpark and from most other errands that we might have normally undertaken.
The upside was that we got to stay in our pjs for a few extra hours a day (we made sure to change before Dad got home!) and developed a new appreciation for our toys. For the record, Amity already had these pajamas before we had ever heard of a H1H1 virus and we don't intend to make light of a virus that has affected many families. However, seeing as how her dad was a former pig farmer and continues to dream of one day owning a pig farm, we wanted to make sure that pigs were still getting some good PR these days!
People are always asking me if I am teaching Amity to speak Spanish. Well, today, I taught her the word "maraca". Does that count? The upside was that we got to stay in our pjs for a few extra hours a day (we made sure to change before Dad got home!) and developed a new appreciation for our toys.
