Say my name...Say my name!

Ever since we announced our plan to name our baby girl "Amity," we heard comments like "As in Amityville Horror Show?" or "As in Amity Island where Jaws was filmed?" And we politely said, "Of course, who wouldn't want their daughter to begin her life as a legacy of the horror film industry?" You see, neither Dennis nor I watch horror films so we had no idea of the connotations linked to this precious name. However, we do watch the news and listen to talk radio and, guess who is bringing back the name "Amity"?
That's right! Amity Shlaes has been all over the media lately discussing her book The Forgotten Man: A New History of the Great Depression. Her perspective is controversial (whose isn't?) but I just enjoy hearing her name spoken where blood is not involved! :)
