We slept so much better Thursday night and didn't wake up until almost SIX in the morning. After getting ready, we piled into two vehicles and headed all the way up Trail Ridge Road to the Alpine Visitor Center and then to the other side to visit the town of Grand Lake. It was a lot of driving but full of beautiful views.
This is so typical Amity right now! She dwells in the land of imaginary princesses and ballerinas. She started filling out her Junior Ranger booklet but I don't think this is a goal we will reach this summer!
We had a lovely picnic at some valley (can't remember the name). We thought this looked like a LL Bean ad. Lolly keeps these kids from getting parched with their LL Bean water bottles.
After lunch, PopPop set out to study the flowers and the grandkids followed.
Vivien sneakily picked a flower or two even though we told her it was against the law!
On our way back up the mountain, we saw lots of cars pulled over and that is always the sign that some animal is in sight. We pulled over and Dennis captured this shot of a moose.
Back at the Alpine Center, we heard the ranger give a talk about lightning.
I followed this little girl all around the center. She is loving her new-found ability to walk and she is pretty fast. She just wants to walk and walk and walk.
Outside the Alpine Center, we took in another glimpse of the mountains.
On our way back to Estes Park, we saw several herds of elk.
PopPop bought the girls this marmot puppet. Amity calls him "Beaver the Marmot".

Since our wedding scrapbook is still in the form of a scrapBOX, we plan to use blurb.com to occasionally convert this blog into a photobook for our girls. Your comments will be included in the book and we love them! Thanks again for dropping by!
