Mother's Day 2011

Whew! It has been a very busy Sunday but a wonderful Mother's Day! It started out getting up early to get to church to work the visitor's table. During the service, Dennis was ordained and installed as a deacon at NSP. So proud and thankful for my hubby! For lunch, we chose Fuddruckers because it is (a) fairly cheap and (b) not everyone else's first choice for Mother's Day. After lunch, we headed home for quick naps and then got up to go to the Arboretum.

It was HOT but my one request for Mother's Day was to have silhouette portraits done of the girls and the artist was to be at the Arboretum today from 1-4. My loving family endured the heat and the waiting to make my dream come true.
What a great guy!

After the silhouettes, we took some time to stroll through the gardens and play in the fairytale castles.

Amity loves these houses!
I love these three so much!

After we left the Arboretum, we dropped off a big load of stuff for the church garage sale and then went to Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream. It was a great idea in theory but the combination of the heat and little girls made for lots of sticky mess.

Amity picked out pink and blue ice cream with marshmallow mix-ins. I went to get more napkins and turned around to see this. :)

Amidst all of the busyness and stickiness, it was a truly wonderful day spent with these loved ones. And, I got my silhouettes!

Our day has ended with bedtime and phone calls to our mothers. We are so thankful for them and the love they share with us and our girls!

Since our wedding scrapbook is still in the form of a scrapBOX, we plan to use blurb.com to occasionally convert this blog into a photobook for our girls. Your comments will be included in the book and we love them! Thanks again for dropping by!
