How does your garden grow?

We do not have the best record for keeping things without legs alive in this house but we are desperately trying to improve this summer. A teacher from Dennis's school gave us some tomato plants as well as watermelon and canteloupe vines that we have repotted/replanted in our backyard.

When Dennis would get home from work, Amity liked to accompany him outside to water the plants. The other morning, I took her outside to water and learned that he had taught her to use the hose by herself.

She was already in her swimsuit because we had swim lessons later that morning. Doesn't she look so patriotic?

We ate our first home-grown tomato last night plucked right off the vine. It was still warm and reminded me of my Pappaw's delicious tomatoes from his garden. We'll see if Amity inherited her GG's and Lolly's green thumb!
